Testimony of Missionary Work

This week was good. We had 14 investigators attend church this past Sunday, that was awesome!!! I love seeing the change in the people and seeing the ones that really want to hear about the gospel. We are going to have some baptisms this next Sunday and I am looking forward to that. It will be great! We are trying to work more with members which to everyone, helps the missionaries. I didn't realize how much the missionaries could use the help of the members. It's wonderful to have a member there testifying with you. The nursing stuff is getting better, but next week my companion leaves and then it's really ALL me, so that will be interesting. Prayers are good. I want to share something that Elder Cook said when he came to talk to us he said, I have come to feel that the Lord will bless you and you are where you ought to be. This mission will bless not just you, but everyone you love including those of future generations of those you love. All of them will be blessed for your service at this time... I really liked that, it helps me remember that I am where I need to be. I am so thankful that I can be a servant and teach these people here in Guatemala.

Time is going Fast.

This week went by fast, it was a great week though. We have people progessing and we had a man come to church that my companion has been teaching for the past two months. AMAZING!!! We also had the opportunity to go to Antigua yesterday for P day. I actually had a pday where I could relax. I feel like Heavenly Father knew that I needed it. It was soo nice and relaxing. We went and looked at museums and went into this hotel that was really cool. Antigua is a tourist place so there were people that spoke english and definitely different than the area that I am in, where I am the other girl with natural blonde hair haha. I loved going there. We had a Family Home Evening in the Bishops house and we had 16 people come with us from investigators, recent converts and inactive members. It was amazing!! I have never had that many people come. So great!! Today we had a meeting with the Stake President and our Mission President and as they were talking I was actually able to understand almost all of it which made me feel soo great! The language is definitely getting better which is a blessing. Understanding is definitely easier than speaking it, but it's coming and there have been times where words just come out. It's weird sometimes to realize that I am speaking Spanish to people, but what a blessing it is to be able to do so.

Another Baptism

This week was great! We had a baptism which was AMAZING!!! He is definitely going to be a future leader of the church. Nursing stuff is good, its challenging at times, but it's good. We were in the capital all day yesterday for our p day helping missionaries. We were at the eye doctor as well as other doctors appointments. Some of the things they call about are funny and some are serious. It's fun and my companion and I have a good time together because we both understand everything. We were laughing, so hard this morning. It's really nice to have a companion who can do this work and have a great time together. She is awesome! I love teaching the gospel even though it is challenging with the language. My companion said that it is getting better and people here are helping me understand it better. The Church is TRUE!! I am excited to continue to see the change in the people here where I am serving.

Officially the Mission Nurse

Tomorrow I officially am the nurse for the mission. This week was good. We had our confirmations and what a great experience that was. I really loved it. We now have two more members of the church and they are so excited to be members. There are people here who are the only members in their families and Satan definitely works on them, but I know they can be strong in this work. Last night we were teaching a lesson and my companion was talking and I felt these people need to hear about love and I couldn't think of a scripture right of the top of my head but looked in the back and knew exactly what scripture to use. It was amazing! The Lord definitely guides us in the direction that we need. I have learned this week a lot that we just need to put our trust in the Lord and he will direct thy paths. There is a family that we are teaching and the father had an accident and he has external pins in and when we were teaching him, I thought and so did my companion he is a future leader of this church. It will be interesting to see his progression.
